Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of https://calcthejob.com (the “Site”), operated by CalcTheJob (“we”, “us”), which you can reach at contact@calcthejob.com. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. The service

CalcTheJob provides free online calculators and articles that help you estimate quantities of building and landscaping materials — for example concrete, gravel, mulch, flooring, tile, drywall, decking and roofing — together with explanations of the formulas used. No account is required. The calculators run in your web browser.

2. Estimates only — verify before you buy or build

All results are estimates for general planning purposes. They rely on the measurements you enter and on typical industry figures (such as bag yields, material densities, coverage rates and waste allowances) that may differ from the specific products, materials and site conditions you encounter. Results are not engineering, architectural, structural or professional advice and do not account for local building codes, permits, loads, soil conditions or safety requirements.

You are responsible for checking quantities with your supplier and product labels, and for confirming design, structural and code requirements with your local building department or a qualified professional before purchasing materials or starting work.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Site for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose;
• copy, scrape or republish the Site’s content or calculators at scale, or use automated means to access the Site, without our written permission;
• interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers or networks, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation with us.

4. Intellectual property

The Site’s text, design, graphics and code are owned by or licensed to CalcTheJob and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the calculators and print results for your own personal or project use. Any other use requires our permission. Product and company names mentioned on the Site, if any, belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification.

5. Advertising and third-party links

The Site displays advertising, including ads served by Google, and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party content, products, prices or practices, and your dealings with them are governed by their own terms and policies.

6. Availability and changes to the service

The Site is provided free of charge. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, temporarily or permanently, without liability to you.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE, THE CALCULATORS AND ALL RESULTS AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY RESULT WILL BE CORRECT FOR YOUR PROJECT, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, MATERIALS, PROPERTY OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ANY RESULT, INCLUDING THE COST OF EXCESS, INSUFFICIENT OR INCORRECT MATERIALS. BECAUSE THE SITE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES ARISING FROM ITS USE, AND YOUR SOLE REMEDY IS TO STOP USING THE SITE. We may suspend or block your access to the Site at any time, without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or are misusing the Site. Sections 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the place where you live.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date above, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
